Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection and Abortion Care: Information for Health Professionals
Updated guidance for healthcare professionals on coronavirus (COVID-19) infection and abortion care published by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) and the British Society of Abortion Care Providers (BSACP).
The RCOG / RCM / BSACP abortion care during COVID-19 guidelines have been updated to include a section on pre-procedure COVID screening. This had created problems with some providers inappropriately applying their policy for elective admissions to women needing an abortion. The new guidance makes it clear that pre-procedure testing and self-isolation are not necessary and if used pathways should ensure that it does not result in any delay to care.
