Joint BSACP/RSM Conference on ‘Abortion Care: Ensuring Excellence, Promoting Wellbeing and Improving Training’ on Thursday 7 October 2021 – REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
23 July 2021
BSACP/RSM Online Conference Registration
Registration for this year’s conference jointly organised by the British Society of Abortion Care Providers (BSACP) and the RSM’s Sexuality & Sexual Health Section is now open!
This will be BSACP’s second online conference, with the two main themes of ‘Training’ and ‘Caring’ also encompassing the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on abortion care and service delivery. The programme has been conceived to appeal to a broad range of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, midwives, and those whose focus is abortion care provision.
The format of this year’s conference is primarily presentations (with live Q&As), and a new feature this year is brief wellness/mindfulness sessions during the am/pm refreshment breaks specifically aimed at the busy healthcare practitioner. There will also be free communications for which submissions are invited. A selection of the best submissions will be presented live during the event by their authors (with opportunities for Q&A). All other good quality submissions will be available for delegates to view online, during and after the event.
Delegates may choose to attend all day, or a morning or afternoon session.
Topics the conference will cover include:
- The new Special Skills Module (SSM) in Abortion Care
- Effective approaches to undergraduate teaching
- The new UK Service Specifications for Abortion Care
- The value of the clinician and service user relationship
- The importance of safeguarding
- Prudent use of ultrasound in abortion care
